Had we? World enough?

Once, you saw The Ganges,

and I walked the Humber shoreline.

Now the time is ours:

stretching out

in the only unchanging river:

that of days remaining the same.

Seize a day,

- any day; today or

any one of all the tomorrows

left to us in lower quantity -

hold it gently in a palm

before it leaks through

our grasping fingers,

causing not a ripple

in the river of time.
