[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

The generous will reap –
impoverished those who keep
from sharing what they can and should,
begrudging to do good.

Refreshing those in need,
you’ll find yourself indeed
refreshed, sustained – the Spirit pours
his grace, your soul restores.

When God supplies a gift,
then use it well, and lift
your thanks, employ it to do good
to many, as you should.

A lovely hymn about a very worhy subject. So often charity is done grudgingly. It is a lesson for us all to learn.

Sadly kindness done grudgingly does not give the kind of blessing that can be known. When Christ's love is received and known, he gives such a freedom to enjoy giving to others, and, it brings such blessing, as the scriptures tell us. Rhiannon
