True, humble prayer, and a proud pretender

It was not that he’d good to claim
or vowed to make fresh start,
he’s justified because he comes
with contrite, humble heart.
And as the Pharisee looked down
in proud contempt upon
the tax collector, God received
and justified that one.
However good or bad you feel,
come to the holy One
with shame, repentance, and then pray
his mercy in his Son.
Tune: CM
‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” from the story of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector told in Luke 18:9-14

It is similar to the cucifiction
It is similar to the cucifiction the two criminals that were crucified with Jesus well that is how it works, pride comes before the fall and humbleness before honour. Jesus said come to him those with burden and heavy laden, he will give rest and the children belong to him.
Good, glad there was another Hymn! & Nolan
