Essential Cycle

There’s a crowd of us here where we’re forming a screen
shading and cooling the place I have been;
soon we will bunch – each group falling away
to go where we’re needed below every day
– jam-packed then together our use we supply
in so many ways, but one day we’ll each fly
heated to rise once again a cloud form
to shade, blown about ’til we shower or storm.

Thank you, Di. I had thought at one time I'd quite like to teach junior science, as I'd been helped to think about basics as I was growing up. Anyway, it  didn't happen, except unofficially! Rhiannon

Thanks, Jenny. It was a fun idea. I had written about clouds in other ways some time ago, when we had that as an IP, and once connected with smoking, so I enjoyed getting a different idea to try! Rhiannon

Thanks, Jean. Yes, a bit of fun, but serious that the water cycle = the cycle of life really

 I've been pondering a bit on the astonishing properties of water which make life possible, and want to try to tabulate its unusual properties that make it be so someitme - again, wonderful design! Rhiannon

To be honest I can't really figure this out but towards the end it started making more sense and thinking of your biochemistery there are many cycles like in nature photosynthesis transpiriation and carbon cycles and nitrogen These are very hard to understand you must be an expert.

smiley Thank you for trying, and sorry if  you felt lost. It wasn't meant to be complicated, but it's supposed to be a molecule of water talking — at first in the sky as a cloud, where all the molecules are separate in a sort of water vapour situation like steam, then they group together to form little drops of water that fall down on earth, where they join with lots of other raindrops to form streams or pools, are piped to people's houses for various uses, and then back to rivers or the sea, and at some stage, as water gets warmed, the molecules rise indiviually back up and cool a bit to form clouds again! That is called the 'Water cycle'

Actually, I've just been checking again, and I think I'm wrong and the water molecues are in small groups or droplets in the clouds, but only fall as rain when they form into bigger droplets, heavy enough to fall to earth. So maybe I need to think again about this one! So thank you for making me think more!!

Thanks, Hilary. As I said above I've just realised I was implying all the molecules separate in the cloud, but they are small tiny droplets, falling to rain when they group into bigger droplets. Still they rise up as individuals in the water vapour before cooling to make the clouds! Rhiannon
