The lone lily flower.

A bright flash
A screeching shout
She falls
Her stem broken
Her petals bent
A raging river
Like that of a tsunami
Flows beneath her
A decaying, broken blade
A single blade
To keep her from that fate,
ripped apart and torn
She knows this.
She knows one misstep
One little wrong shake.
One tiny breeze
and she will fall.
To an uncaring river.
However.
That broken blade.
That single little blade.
Holds on.
Please hold on.
"It gets better"
It says.
And She believes it.
Truly believes.

Hello Queenlorine. I can't
Hello Queenlorine. I can't pretend I understood it all from the point of view of gender but I found it powerful none the less and speaks volumes to anyone holding on for any reason. It's both stark and descriptive, I like the short-phrase shape of it. Sometimes we do hold on by the tiniest of threads. Maybe that last thread or blade is the strongest. Keep believing. I love words and pictures together too. Enjoy doing your painting.
