once
you sheltered within me. We were one
before fences. I grew
to know
burning, soon
you chose
to believe I'm take as you
find
saw
right through me, made light
every night, free
of rules. Maybe Understanding
with animals then. I'm belonging here
now
you said you don't, need Mothering
more, each failing
falling. Stars in your eyes
blind
walking bright dreams. There's no air
left
in your future. Each tree
wood
forest, all
stumped

This feels a little
This feels apocalyptic with that recurring message of man destroying the planet. I enjoyed the layering that sits within each line. A rewarding poem to read. Paul
