Are you wanting to be …

No man is an island
though you may want to be
alone, independent
and totally free,
private, no duties,
responsibilities gone,
doing just what you want to
and subject to none;
but we still long for company
thoughtfulness, sympathy
and those who are glad if
we caring will be
to them.
We can’t be an island
floating, untouched
in the ocean of humanity
unnoticed, unclutched;
we’re made to be social,
our role we must play
though not to be smothered
or bullied anyway.

Such wise words Rhiannon. We
Such wise words Rhiannon. We all need time alone occasionally, but it's good to have loved ones around, that communication that calms the spirit and shared happiness in times of feeling depressed, or just needing someone to listen.
Such a great idea for the I P.

So, so true Rhiannon. I
So, so true Rhiannon. I often share with others my thoughts and feelings on solitude or 'island mentality' and the most important thing is that the solitude is a chosen moment. Some have it forced upon them by circumstance or piunishment. In my 'Island Life' I am allowed to sail to others' shores and be that social animal I really need to be.
Loved this and it is so profound.

Makes one think of
Makes one think of the words of Simon & Garfunkel:
I am a rock, I am an island
and a rock feels no pain
and an island never cries
cherrries! well done! Tom
