Into the heart, out of the mouth

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
Take care where you gaze
– your eyes, your heart’s door:
some sights bring malaise,
polluting your core.
Direct the attention
of ears to what’s good,
from gossip corruption
that harms like bad food.
Not nosing out dirt,
or spreading round lies,
mouth trained not to hurt,
words helpful arise.
Protect, guard my heart, Lord,
be guiding my eyes,
your wisdom impart, Lord
to grow kind and wise.
Tune: 10 10 11 11 eg Houghton
cf Proverbs 4:23-27

the best cook
The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and hunger is the best cook. Ages old advice and very true! Note you young ladies!
Do you also have a public holiday? It was originally a communist holiday of course- who cares?
Have a great day Rhiannon! &

A wise poem Rhiannon, and
A wise poem Rhiannon, and words that I always try to adhere to. But of course there are those times when human nature takes over, and I feel the need to have a different opinion, and writing poetry gives me a chance to speak my thoughts.
