saturates our forest
stalwart trees closeted
in great abundance
birch is one specimen
& carries an air
of independence like a
white candle or
a slice of
lightning dueling
amidst the pine & spruce
smothered in maples
upon a shaggy hillside-
Autumn is on the way
& soon to erupt with
a voice filled in an
epiphany of colours.
