Lullaby rain:
gentle rhythm
pattering droplets’ refrain
softly strafing the thirsty earth
soaking, hydrating
wetting the wilting
all that was waiting
to drink their fill
from the fall
sweeping past
weeping down
at last.

Love this poem about the rain Rhiannon. Like the idea of it being like a lullaby too. Each lines flow perfectly into the next.

Thank you, Jenny. I've always liked to hear the sound of rain (especially if not too wild!) at night, and last night I was lying a bit wakeful when a shower passed. Rhiannon

Thank you! I know you love the sound of rain, too, and are a writer of lullabys on such sounds with many musical words.

I wasn't copying, I just do always love the patter of rain when lying awake and find it very soothing, and tried to capture my feelings, in a very different style to your writings! Rhiannon
