Herefordshire Harvest

Juicy harvest: fruit galore
how the rosy apples pour –
filling juice and cider store:
gathered, squeezed and pulped before
winter comes when fruit would rot
though those falling, bruised, will not
go to waste – the birds will glean,
as will worms and maggots,
– clean up soon the orchard scene
as fungus helps decay to birth
fertilizer for the earth.
