Rocky Road Remembered

A journey trod by many

As they wander holding hands

Countless lovers wander

Outnumbering grains of sand

 

The insistent biology of love

Hearts, flowers, turtle dove

Mating calls dressed in romance

Cupid’s arrow holds that glance

 

Lovers skip on dreamy clouds

Steadfast promises said aloud

But is this love or are they lured

The rocky road dreamily obscured

 

The ages of wilting man

Change the path, change the plan

Straying, stumbling utterly lost

Mismatched urges count the cost

 

Yet some walk straight

From gate to gate

Chrysalis to butterfly hatched

 Paired lovers speaking true

After all this time I still love you

Great sentiments in your poem. It's more than love when finding that special soul mate you can share moments with and smile when you recall. Remembering how you got through the bad times too, by working together.

I'm a believer, its so worth the time distance and hold on. There's a soul gift & lesson there, and you wrapped beautifully in this Poem
