Graceful Uplifting

Like a chrysalis, bud breaks
shoot bursts out like a butterfly,
the leafllets slowly expand, open out
like the butterfly’s creased-up wings,
to form the fingered expanse of the horse-chestnut leaf.

Some great use of metaphors
Some great use of metaphors in this poem Rhiannon, especially;
Like a chrysalis, bud breaks
shoot bursts out like a butterfly.
Such a wonderful image portrayed.
Enjpyed.

A beautiful moment captured so poignantly. My cherry tree has started to bud last few days. Spring is a magical time of year :)

Hi again Rhiannon
Hi again Rhiannon
I look out of my windows to the South to a very beutiful horse chestnut tree. It was not leafed out when I went into hospital but when I came home, it was glorious and green and so beautiful

perfect title! Thankyou for
perfect title! Thankyou for reminding me about these :0) I used to hate sticky buds as a child as my hair would get stuck in them running under the low branches of the huge tree in my parents' garden, but looking back, it was special, as you say, seeing those "limp looks" lush out. And then the lovely flowers like pale candle flames and then the shiney brown smooth conkers popping out of their prickly skins, and then all the swishy yellow leaves on the ground. A great tree for all ages
