Wandering Through the Wondering

I had a dream. Not one of those grandiose political dreams that just lead to more dreams, but something pointed and gritty.
It began with a couple of jokes. Harry and Megs postponed their decision about attending the Coronation - until after the Coronation. Harry said he might attend if the Coronation was his. M said that would be her job, and H rolled over and had his tummy tickled.
Then the weather forecast came on. Usually I give my own by glancing through the window, saying "the usual crap", and putting up two fingers to the sky. This time, however, there was an interesting report about 'Storm Willy' which had caused millions of pounds worth of damage around the country and hospitalised ten people. I immediately wondered why we'd begun to call these things by endearing names, as though they were cuddly puppies. Wouldn't it make more sense to call them by derogatory names, such as 'Storm Arsehole', or 'Storm Dog Shite'?
Anyway, the main part of the dream then unfolded.
It went like this.

Everyone was in fact borrowing money from everyone else to 'pay' for it. Consequently, money itself was abolished and more grounded forms of bartering and exchange were substituted.
For example.
Market Day.
Farmer Giles had a pig, two dozen eggs, twenty loaves of bread and a big red nose. Approaching the stall, came a number of potential customers. The first said,
"I'm a social worker specialising in gender neutral inclusiveness. Could I trade my knowledge and advice for six eggs and a loaf of bread please?
"No".
"Good morning. I'm a tax collector, acquiring free food for those who don't want to work. Could I have thirty percent of your stall please?
"No, definitely not. But I'll accept your carcase for the mincer, if that's any good?"
The football players, celebrities, newsreaders, administrators, politicians (and many others) were getting thinner and thinner in this new, real world.
They were considering striking.
I had a dream.....

I enjoyed your dreams of a more 'grounded' economic system. It might bring some home truths to some overpaid overpriviliged groups!
