Here already?

How did we make it to our place
in a way not slow?
Perhaps the curvature of space.
I don’t rightly know.
The time we made was really good
on the flip-flop and
faster than you think we could
in a ‘95 Astro Van.
Who can say? Perhaps was it
the slight downward grade
that added to the deficit
in the time we made?
I don’t know equations.
Math for me is rough.
And I never had the patience
for all that physics stuff.
Perhaps it was a worm-hole.
A singular what-cha-ma-call.
Or perhaps it was the psychic toll
the trip took on us all.
We love to travel.
Yes we do.
But we wished
the trip were through.
First, it was borin’,
then time just flew.
Just like for Orr in
Catch 22.
But, we love to travel.
Oh, yes we do.
We think you’d love it
if you traveled, too.
Yes, perhaps it was the toll that messy
trip took on us all.
We went and saw Aunt Bessie,
then found another mall.
Then, we went to their Applebee’s.
But, it was just the same.
We went and watched them make some cheese,
then caught a softball game.
But, we love to travel.
I will remind.
Just made it east
in record time.
We didn’t ‘book’.
‘Least not per se.
We somehow took
a faster way.
But we love traveling,
oh, yes, we do.
I just guess
we sorta flew.
One in our party, as we carred
told of an evil cat.
“In the parking lot, and off my guard.
In stocking feet at that!
See,
I was knocking clods off of my boots
and this cat comes up curious.
When I told the cat that he was cute,
he responded furious.
That cat made for my calf
I confess: I came unglued.
I skedaddled, he began to laugh.
You see me now un-shoed.”
The miles sped away
as the shoeless tale he told.
Speaking of our trip that day,
and the cat who was so bold.
Now, we miss touring.
And, all we’ve seen.
Now, we’re enduring
the in-between.
We’ve time to burn,
but here we stay.
We will return
on Labor Day.
Our fortitude that trip did test.
Visiting ten miles west.
Making time a treacly mess.
We got home before we left!

I'm not one for physics eiher
I'm not one for physics eiher. time travel is for the birds. (or phoons, or cats).

So that's how it's done!
So that's how it's done!
Absolutely love it. I can hear it with some psychedelic music in the background, definitely a touch of Procul Harum (Google them if you're too young), and a very cool cat indeed.
Thank you!
