So Far So Good
By Paul McCann
I’m talking to myself about something
that’s about somebody else .
I’ll keep it to myself
because don’t want to trouble no one else..
I’m walking by myself on streets paved with gold ,
but laid for someone else ,
My old boots have seen better days,
back when I had saved up lots of wealth .
So far so good,
doing the best I can to get ahead ,
that’s the plan ,
so if you really want to know ,
don’t bother to ask me how I am .
I’m rolling in lots of dough
but folding with all the money that I owe ,
Someday I’ll get back on top
and then the good times are going to flow .
I’m controlling how I feel,
doing better that most people I know
and if I don’t loose control
then I’ll know exactly how things will go .
So far so good , every things ok.
Its getting better everyday
What’s the use complaining
because no one wants to listen anyway
.

In talking to yourself you've got one person listening... probably... hopefully.
I talk to myself all day. I make myself laugh and I have arguments and fall out with myself.
It's all good practice for when we have to talk to someone else.
A good poem Paul. Very thought provoking.
