More of a code than a riddle Rhiannon, not bad, sounds like a good place to start. The first few letters can be misleading and why are the words in English? I zoomed in you can actually read the letters but I doubt it's authentic.

All you need now is writing it back to front, that would have been a lot harder.

Hope you are well I'm Ok I've been working on some things. I hear it's world cup soon and today is Spring Day they make a big thing of it here.

The words are in English so that they can be understood in England, as long as people read them right. The Latin look is just a tease, as so often inscriptions are written in Latin. You can read the letters on the bench , but on my photograph, I superimposed them in yellow as the old engraving would not show up very clearly!

We saw a plaque on a house with what looked like nonsense, but you had to read the letters from the bottom right-hand corner up one column, then down the next, back to the left side!
