Hi Rhiannon, What a lovely
Hi Rhiannon, What a lovely setting for your poem. Loved the lines:-
Burbling song
resounding around the dome
bubbling erupting exultantly
two little lungs breathe in, pour out
in synchronous duet
bursting, echoing
over the scene below.
These lines reminded me of being up on the Ridgeway and hearing only the tiny birds and their beautiful song.
Then there was that second stanza which really stood out too. I closed my eyes and could picture myself in your garden listening to blackbird chattering away:-
Rich deep trilling,
chuckles, gurgles twirling,
tickle thrilling,
short, sharp whistles
mellow whirring.
I do love blackbird, they have such a distinct sound.
Your photos are special too and give the poem great meaning.
Jenny.

There is nothing quite as
There is nothing quite as pleasant as birdsong, except if you live where I do in Australia. We have birds called Currawongs and their songs, while numerous and interesting, are the very opposite of 'burbling', 'trilling' or 'whistling'. Their songs are abrasive, brash, loud and, to anyone not familiar, probably also somewhat disturbing, haha... Lovely poem, by the way.
