Firework party, a little early

Fizzy fireworks, sparkling lights:
no fear here
of ghosts or bombs,
but colourful exciting sights –
squeals, bright eyes,
a rolling surprise:
wheesh, whoosh, swish!
a rocket’s little shriek,
cold nose, pink cheek.
Melting marshmallows,
and the delight
of
holding
a
sparkler
in
the
dark
November night!

The joy just jumps out of this poem. Perfect for this time of year. Just lovely, Rhiannon :)

a humble sparkler!
Holding a sparkler is always a delight and with kids around especially! I have a close friend who's birthday is on Guy Fawkes (or something). So I wish him the best,

every year you have a fresh, vivid poem about fireworks :0) Just as with your Springtime poems of snowdrops then daffodils, I love how you highlight special times
