much thought given to variety
of invites and activity.
One day
a pigmy goat and three guinea pigs
brought in for cuddles and feeding,
and some huskie puppies too:
such smiles awhile all around!

Hi Rhiannon,

I love the idea of bringing animals in for petting, especially the huskie puppies. I'll bet the old people get so much pleasure and comfort from these creatures, and it must be amusing to watch their antics.

Thanks. The photo is just a composite of an old photo of mother-in-law and some depiction of a little goat! I wasn't at this occasion, but it sounded so good, and I have great respect for the Home and the Activity organiser who is hard-working and inventive! Rhiannon

I've heard of this happening too - locally with Llamas and dogs/cats but hopefully not all at the same time - such a good idea!

Thanks. Yes, the touch and gentle movement to watch and be involved in is very much enjoyed. I think they have had eagles and owls in before and one of the owls could be held.. But there does seem a lovely gentle variety of activities and interests, and of course, actual involvement will vary with abitlity, but some can enjoy watching what they can't join in with much. Therapy pets! Yes...this is becoming more and more popular. It's said to make a huge difference to patients in hospital amongst other places and expedites recoveries. Just lovely :)

Yes, and I think it helps staff to see how they relax the residents, and they can share together in the fun. I think actually the huskies may have vfisited on a seperate day, so two lovely occasions! Rhiannon
