A Murder of Crows (Transcendence)
Clouds billow like
gathering coal dust,
telegraph-wire lined,
feathers and bone
watch dusk descend.
Monochrome landscape
on back-lit horizons,
in wind-chime dreams,
where eyes of birds
can see lost souls.

I'm sure birds can see beyond what we as humans detect. It's nice to read a spiritual poem that looks at the idea of crows having an insight into the spirit world.
This poem is definitely on my wavelength.
Thanks for sharing Paul. I really found it fascinating.

Your words sum up the grimness of this time of year. especially the monochrome landscape line.
A nicely written poem that I enjoyed in a grim sort of way.

Enjoyed yourr compact cold description of the hard dull cold of the time of year. The piercing look of the grim-looking crows can easily make people think they can see such. (Wouldn't be any use to us if they could!) Rhiannon
Reminded me of the excitement when we saw a row of chough (we were chuffed!) on a fence in Gower, but that was in summer and their red feet and beaks as well as being so noticeable give a bit more brightness!
