Abraham was called to teach
his family God’s Way:
Christ would come whose grace would reach
to every land one day.

Ruth from Moab went to glean
the field in Boaz’ farm.
She found enough – he was not mean
checked she’d be safe from harm.

And from their line, the Christ-child came:
Great-grandson David, King
first wisely ruled – when he did wrong,
repented of his sin.

One day the perfect King would dwell,
on whom all can depend:
‘God with us’ – Emmanuel,
a Saviour and true Friend.            [IP: anticipation]
