O mighty, mighty lake
home to the glorious negro.
How the mighty fall.
O Lordy, how the mighty fall,
deep,deep into the gorge,
and beyond.
On river banks many, many
negroes born and bred well.
Long time, long story,
lost.
Black to pale they went.
Remain, remain, strong and
mighty in your fabric of black and gold.
Colours of the rainbow you shall wear,
and more.

I know when a poem is good -
I know when a poem is good - when I wish I'd written the same; and this did it, with it's mythic quality.
