Storm
By Rhiannonw
- 1982 reads
Wind battering, rattling, howling,
thunder growling,
rain pounding, ground flooding,
shelter shaking,
hearts quaking,
loose tiles lifted,
breaking, shattering …
silence
still
turmoil past
peace at last
a bird sings
life safe
gratitude.

We had storms and when we went out this morning we found trees blocking the local droves and paths; you've captured that feeling well Rihiannon.

Henk has a lot to answer for! No trains here (again) because of flooding and trees on the line, but at least no power cuts. Hope your roof is ok Rhiannon!

A perfect storm in words. I've just moved house and the sounds produced by the high winds are more alarming since I'm yet to figure out what's normal for the building. Awful damage for some out there. Let's hope for more peace and perhaps even sunshine.

Very glad you are not effected by the rain, was thinking about you, listening to the radio!

A tumultuous opening that captures a storm so well. And boy have we had some recently. They feel never ending. Maybe there are sunnier skies ahead in January.
Atmospheric poem, adroitly done Rhiannon. Paul
