Autobiography (but not mine!)

I buzzed round in the cloud, clung to some of my kind
but one day we gathered in big groups, to bind
together, and then when quite heavy enough,
we dropped through the sky
down, down to the earth
with others to lie
forming such aggregates, puddles, and flooding,
before
we soaked, dripped, dropped,
seeped right into the ground
to restore
its wetness, and now I abide
but soon I may find
a root grow to touch me and suck me inside,
and the pull from the leaves may draw me up
to where they may use me, and break me up
to form their growth-sugars:
Will that be my end?
Well, if that plant’s eaten
I may be remade
when an animal burns up its food
to release
energy and me (or my like)
(once more in one piece),
to get sent back to earth or up to the sky
where one day, I
(or my like)
may again join a cloud, and …

What an interesting IP
What an interesting IP response Rhiannon - and as always you can use the Inspiration Point in any way you choose, though I meant for people to use all three 'things' rather than the exact words, which is exactly what you've done!

I liked this, the wau you've taken the element and shown how it returns to where it came from.

I really like this. I like
I really like this. I like the way you've highlighted how water is used over and over again in nature; many times in the past and many times in the future, as well as here and now.

"..we soaked, dripped,
"..we soaked, dripped, dropped,
seeped right into the ground
to restore
its wetness,"
A perfect circle described so beautifully. There's a deftness to this that makes the poem so readable. Just lovely, Rhiannon. Paul

Autobiography of a water
Autobiography of a water droplet, a brilliant take on the water cycle and a well written poem. I enjoyed the journey and philosophical thoughts from the droplet.
Will that be my end?
Well, if that plant’s eaten
I may be remade
when an animal burns up its food
to release
energy and me (or my like),
Excellent choice for POD!
