Joggins Nova Scotia
presents layers of history
finally uncovered
within ancient rocky sheets
of civilization
as drawers in office
settings. See
the neat
order of time periods-
an outstanding view
from beach to imbedded prizes
an upward dazzle
of petrified
samples from back then
eroded over a span
of time & a millennia
of earnest seasons
-along the facade
of a mountainous wall
a secret place
gouged by a restless ocean
protected by the ages
now discovered
for all to see
a culture of antiquity
& value – enough
for a museum to be built
& highlight
history at its best.

It is staggering and
It is staggering and impressive to see the strata so displayed.
The questions come as to how long it took to form each layer and fossilize dead creatures. For some time it has been assumed that it was slow millenia for formation, but that has been shown to be so unlikely as fossils have to be buried quickly, and layers form quickly in catastrophic situations, many fossil graveyards showing such signs. So much would have been formed so at different stages of the worldwide flood of Noah's day. Rhiannon
