Oppositions
By Paul McCann
Oppositions left and right
some up ahead and out of sight
They stand ringing a warning bell
Don’t come here , we don’t wish you well .
I see their faces in the crowd
haughty and scruffy and so proud .
With their noses up in the air
contemplating their disorder .
Oppositions wanting to show ,
their way is the best way to go ,
but I like to walk in between
the crossroads where no one has been .
On straight and narrow paths I go
to a welcome and a hello
at the doors beyond no one knows
tthat are open and never closed ,
Oppositions are left outside
On dark streets where they cannot hide.
From dawn to dusk they will be there ,
Trying their best to be unfair .

Well done Paul... This could be a mantra/platform form for a candidate... not that any of them can express it so artfully as this

Oppositions - I imagined them
Oppositions - I imagined them as crouching mumbling creatures - you've nailed this well Paul.
