The Streets With No Shame By Paul McCann
Without a word of a lie , sure nobody would deny what I believe in my heart., is that our love won’t depart .
Its painted on gable walls , its answered when danger calls . It’s a peace line , it’s a word , it’s a song that we’ve all heard.
It’s in the past that I know. as I walked through rain and snow Gave piggy back rides for fun , burnt bonfires with everyone .
Back entries for our blind dates, front streets for our roller skates the life and soul so witty , all around Belfast City .
No short cut or Cul De sac, goals to score and nets to wreck . Missing things we thought we’d lost.; some spare change on pitch and toss.
On street corners bathed in light. with our friends on Friday night . to the town at some disco .
All piled in a Taxi Cab friends were great things we could grab, On the way back home again, back to the streets with no shame .

Some familiar recollections
Some familiar recollections in this poem. Particularly:- Back entries for our blind dates and the line:- front streets for our roller skates.
We had a lot of lanes and alley ways where I lived. Also a pavement where all the kids would roller skate up and down.
Some great memories for you to look back on in your poem, which I enjoyed reading.
Jenny.

I Like to call this Back Down
I Like to call this Black Down Memory Lane. And to quote Charles Dickens, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". And if you don't mind. Back to the streets with no shame. We've all been there. Thanks for the memories.

As they say, the past is a diferent country, and for many of us we'd still like a passport; a great poem Paul - bringing it all back again.
