I Did It Today.

I did it this morning, and when I did, I realized I hadn’t done it for a long time.
I used to do it a lot when I was at school, and so did a lot of my friends, and children I knew.
It made me think, why did we do it then? And why do we not do it now?
Times have changed, they have changed a lot.
My kids have never done it, nor has my grandson.
It was always in some sort of basic code, so it was only known to me and no one else.
It was always important!
I never forgot the code.
Back then, I would see people on telly do it too.
Of course, eventually some would say to me, “It is bad for you, doing that can poison yourself.” That wasn’t a deterrent, for I’d done it for decades.
Some people I saw, they were over the top and even did designs and patterns, but for me, it wasn’t for that.
So, what am I on about?
Writing on the back of you hand or palm.
My daughter puts the information she needs to remember in her phone. I have tried that, but I always forget! Meghan says, “Set an alarm Mum.” But that seems too hard for me.
For me, I either write it on my calendar on the wall, or write it on my note pad, and tear it off and put it by the front door. If I am at work, I write it on a sheet of paper and leave it on my desk, so that I see it often throughout the day.
I can’t remember why I wrote on my hand that morning, I might have been listening to the radio and heard something that was very important and the nearest thing to hand was my hand, so I wrote it down.
We have all found different ways of remembering to log things that are important to us.
My brother has everything on his phone, even the dates that he has stored food, and when he needs to take them out and use them. This is for each individual tin item.
I am glad I don’t write on my hand anymore, as I have ample paper always near me. Everywhere except by my bed. When I go to bed, If I get the answer to a solution, I always remember it. If I get a pattern for my next tie dye, I always remember that too.
