[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
The earth created without form,
God’s Spirit hovered, and
then brought in order – beauty born –
land, life as he had planned.
Disciples frightened in a storm
but Jesus spoke and stilled,:
the waters calmed, all raging gone,
– they all with awe were filled.
Today He sees your troubles, mess,
His Spirit can bring peace
and order to the deep distress:
from chaos bring release.
Tune: CM
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be … And God said, ‘Let there be … etc”. Genesis chapter 1

confusion and chaos
Your last verse (today he sees your troubles … ) I think is about faith, forgiveness and the promise of peace, being freed of the bonds of sin and the oppression of evil, as pledged in many places in the Bible.
You tell of release and freedom, to deal with confusion and chaos I think in the end would mean complete acceptance and trust.
Beautiful poetry, have a good week Rhiannon! Nolan &
