To wash or not to wash …

See that car so sparkling bright?
passers-by enjoy the sight,
standing there at number 10,
washed and polished yet again.
Here am I at number 8
in a muddy, messy state
for my owner is so busy
thinks that washing cars is fussy.
Well, although I am so dusty,
underneath there’s nothing rusty.
Keeps me well and fit for duty –
constant call-outs – acts of mercy.
I’ve helped many people get
to the doctor’s or the vet. .
So, although my outside’s dirty,
people value me and praise me.
Still I hope he may find time,
wash me clean and make me shine
soon, so he can better see
all ‘s well on th’outside of me!!
[IP: write on a topic you care about but from another’s point of view - whether it be an animal, a voter of a very different persuasion, someone from history, an alien] [I don't think this is a topic I particularly care about, though I sometimes feel my husband is too keen to wash the car when the country lanes around here so quickly respatter it. I didn't write this with the IP in mind, but as it is told from the car's point of view, I thought it could proabably slip in to the IP category!}

Nice IP response Rhiannon. My
Nice IP response Rhiannon. My car gets washed every time it has a service so it must be thinking a lot of rude things about me : )

Car wash
Our car gets washed everytime it rains, though on the inside it gets dirtier. We even left the windows open on one occasion but that made things even worse.
I take my hat off to you and your car.

I had a battered old Escort
I had a battered old Escort Christine (still the round shape) once the traffic police pulled me off the road they said I must wash my car. Can you believe it? Built up. The legendary Ford Kent 1600 engine under the bonnet.
Keep well! Tom
