I can't write my novel,
there has been a hitch.
My new word processor
has an operational glitch.
 
I had been assured
It was the real McCoy,
an exceptional gadget
and not merely a toy.
 
It was supposed to be
my inspirational Muse
but I have found out
it's not of much use.
 
Guaranteed to spout
words of top-quality
it produces instead
tosh in great quantity.
 
What I have got now
is what I've bought
but it's not the one
I originally sought.
 
I wanted a machine
able to write words
so good that I'd get
many literary awards.
 
It's a matter of regret
that to satisfy my ego
I purchased a gizmo
that only creates GIGO
 
whose acronym is easy
for anyone to work out;
it's a computer's term:
Garbage in, Garbage out.

Clever, Luigi and you have had fun! Reminds me of the times people blame the computer for some problem eg messing up someone's finances, when there is a reluctance to realise the more likely explanation is that information was wronglty typed into the computer. Rhiannon

Ha ha, garbage all round. It's often all that the machine will spit out but at least it makes us appreciate the good stuff when it comes around. Very cute, delightful and perfectly formed as always, Luigi.

Hello, Jane. I can't understand those critics who say that a bad workman blames his tools. Of course it's the machine's fault! But, obviously, when something good is produced, it's down to our own endeavour. laugh

Nice one Luigi, and I haven't come across GIGO for some time - it was once a trusted rubic. As to tech, what was wrong with quill and parchment I ask?
