In between the doubt and the truth

Is the anguish of youth

Too much pressure

Not enough time

Everybody’s looking

For a sign

In between the promise and the lie

Are things that money can’t buy

They’re hard to get

You can’t stop the clock

It’s easy to stand still

When your mind is locked

In between the love and the lost

Is the damage and the cost

There’s no writing on the wall

The light is dimming

Where’s the hope

Is it drowning or swimming
