Was expecting Tom to come to my home today to give me a quote for some home improvement. He was unable to come.

He had received some bad news. The bad news was his friend had committed suicide.

Those words were terrible to hear. I asked, “Did he leave a note?”

The reply I got back was, “Three of his friends have committed suicide in one year.”

Poor Tom.

I knew the answer, but I googled it anyway.

“Suicide is the main cause of death in young people under the age of 35 in the U.K. Over three quarters of them were boys or young men. On average, over five young people take their lives each day.”

RIP.

Losing three friends, that must be heartbreaking. My son is very worried about his best friend, cannot stop thinking about him, wanting to help and not knowing how

I can't imagine what that must be like for Tom, he came to my home on Sunday, and that was the first time I met him, in person, I did not mention the loss of his friend, as I didn't want to upset him.

PLEASE ask your son to try and help his friend to get help, before it is Too Late!. Maybe he could either go with his friend to talk with someone they both Trust 100%  or he could ask his friend to go on his own, if the friend would prefer that, to talk to someone in confidence. it is True what BT slogan said years ago, "It is Good to Talk." 

Try and encourage you son, so that he can help his friend.

Thankyou for your reply, Maxine. Yes, he has started seeing a psychotherapist now, because of my son encouraging him but his friend is still very low, was rushed to hospital the other day. But my son is hoping that might be the turning point. It is good that you have highlighted this subject in your writing, Thankyou again

It is my Pleasure. It is a Subject that can make some people feel uncomfortable. But it shocked me as three is a lot and I knew a lad who was with his friend, they walked into  his brother's house and they found him hanging! The both of them got him down he was clearly dead. This young man had everything and he left no note sad

I hope all works out well for this Lad and maybe in turn, he after he has been helped will be able to help another.
