Smiling wide
it peeped over the wall,
nosey and friendly to all.
Then grew taller
and faced each way …
up, up it stretched
to see over the roof
to the field where the
schoolchildren play!

Yes, I presume it's hollyhock. I had forgotten that last yearr it suddenly showed itself like that, 'peeping' into our yard! Rhiannon

It really is like a periscope and a very pretty one. Hopefully it will drop seeds and have lots of very tall offspring.

!! They probably wouldn't seed if they dropped our side, as it is yard just there, though saying that, a lot of things do grow at the edge and between stones, and I have to decide which can stay there; But they'll probably drop in by the parent plant in the other garden! Rhiannon
