[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

The idols are silent
– God speaks
in words that are clear:
He seeks
to teach and inform
– eye and ear
created to read and to hear.

We’re made so we language
can use
to help, not malign,
or confuse;
communicate, listen
and share
and tell of our God’s loving care.

Through various languages
we
receive revelation
to see
the ‘Why’ of the universe,
and
can chat so our friends understand!

I think we must watch out of taking ourself too serious and being too formal, nor shallow and casual – and to be balanced. I count myself too. After all, ABC is about writing and reading, mostly about having fun!

Relating to your poem, According to Viktor Frankl, he who has a "Why" in life can overcome almost any "How". An "eye and ear created to read and to hear", reminds of teachers at school.

With God's help we can have really good fun, not that which ends up bringing other people down or being distasteful. And we can say things that help others.

what amazes me is that the God who made all and is almighty in understanding has revealed truth that we need in a way we can understand!
