On the Hill, Abberley

Tall tree trunks,
branches high beginning to green –
fresh bright green of newly bursting, and emerged leaves,
some lower bushes,
floor of crunchy leaf litter
violets peeping showing velvet here and there,
lakes of hazy bluebells ahead,
small patches of emerging curly fiddleheads of ferns
To the left glimpse countryside far below through the trunk screen,
to the right gaps to look at verdant hills
and valley leading down to glimpse of the Malverns;
bird song – but no other person beside us–
though the ‘waterfall-like’ hum of a road not far away.
What strange shapes some tree trunks have!

Now this is my kind of ramble
Now this is my kind of ramble Rhiannon.
how you express what is seen gives that gentle relaxed feeling of calm.
Lovely words and enjoyed reading.
