And there's a pink moon over Waverley
hide and seeking the scotch mist
the king of the castle has tumbled down
while dancing the Lothian twist
itch your tattoo for the pink moon of Waverley
juggle your dreams all the way to Leith
carry her head in a Safeway bag
a lock of her fringe clenched in your teeth
drink the juice of the pink moon of Waverley
with a scar crossed boy from Montrose
fly back south in the leaky gilded balloon
with a slashed up caved in nose
pray for the death of the pink moon of Waverley
let it shatter like a cracked billiard ball
wake up sweating in a bagpipers bed
who serenades you back to school?
