MY WAY.
(REGRETS I LEAVE TO FRANK).
sneak
She's on my mobile phone again.
She's running up the bill.
So many things to talk about.
And too much time to kill.
Girlie chats that don't make sense -
to Neanderthals like me.
I scratch my arse and fart aloud.
I yawn and make the tea.
Hair unkempt and eyes of red.
Unshaven, modern man.
A single parent tragedy.
Breakfast from a can.
Letters, bills and circulars -
littering the floor.
Barbie dolls and action men -
declaring plastic war.
School books and cigarettes.
Toys and Prozac pills.
As organised as chaos.
But lacking all the thrills.
As lonely as my bank account -
that's often overdrawn.
As serious as suicide.
The price of being born.
As beautiful as life itself.
As precious as my time.
Single parent hopelessness.
Together we are fine.
Together we are everything.
Regrets, I leave to Frank.
My unexpected miracle.
The one mistake I thank.
