NO I DON'T WANT YOU MR. OAKEY!
sneak
She's working as a waitress -
in a tacky cocktail bar.
She doesn't mind the hours.
She's tired of being a star.
The constant adulation,
caused her so much misery.
Her dreams and aspirations -
were controlled by Phil Oakey.
The nineteen eighties 'legend' -
of synthesiser pop,
thought he had it all -
but the music had to stop.
He chose her in a second.
Presuming she'd succumb,
he promised her the world -
and a number one album.
She was disappointed,
'cause she was into Wham!
George was such a hunk.
She knew he was her man.
Phil would have to whistle -
to his own electric tune.
She preferred to listen -
to George and Andrew croon.
Jealousy and stardom -
go together hand in hand.
Phil is a professional,
she didn't understand.
Tempers soon erupted -
in to cold hostility.
I still hear him crying,
'Don't say you don't want me!'
She tired of the music -
and Phil's obsessive way.
She threw away her lyrics -
when she heard that George was gay.
She's working as a waitress.
She's tired of being a star.
Phil Oakey isn't welcome -
in her tacky cocktail bar.
