Charioteer

- 1987 reads
Be my charioteer in this battle,
The arrows are mine alone to fire
Deep into the anguished groan of
Tortured heart,
Deep into dark twisted desire,
Drive me Lord Hari, behind
Thundering white horses -
The reluctant warrior
Who shrinks from pain,
Whilst all around the
Battlefield my kin are falling,
Spur me on Beloved.
Is this a war
To open the doors of heaven,
Make me glad of my fate
To fight for this grace?
I have no faith in my bow
Or my arms
Only in you
Eternal charioteer.
