Green eyeshadow

My pretty green
eyeshadow
is smudged
all over the
pillowcase
that was
once
pretty, neat, and prim
like an old
grey schoolteacher
before I pressed
my head against it.
And it's
just gorgeous
the way the
pretty patterns
of mica-embedded
green eyeshadow
can prophesize
my nimby, dimby
future.
And I feel
completely eternal,
like I'll never die,
or grow old, even,
until the
green eyeshadow
comes out in the wash.
