For NeverNeverLand

A velvet film
from one of your appendages
covered the entrance
to NeverNeverland,
because in your simple
mindless innocence,
you didn't know it was there.
And atop your
desert of white lacey
water droplets,
it's just a
hop, skip, and a jump
away from
Peter Pan's lair,
where the lost boys
rest so gently
upon their
palm fronds,
and where fairies
that can fit
in the palm of your hand
make their homes
in old, unused
cuckoo clocks.
And settled in
this blue plaid seat
aboard this
large car
with wings,
I can only wish
you'd pull back your
wings and arms
and legs
and drift lazily
back to the place
where your creator sits
on his pretty golden throne,
so I could find the entrance
to NeverNeverland,
quietly sneak in,
and awake the Lost Boys
to tell them their
Wendy is back.
