INTO THE CLEAN
for Brian Keenan
Sun erupts from sleeping storms.
Forging rainbows cut from glass.
Convexed to brilliance.
Cooled by silence.
Shatter-proof like faith.
Once clipped wings flutter.
Levitating through cornflower blue.
Swooping now, grasping;
that the past is a prologue, a pilgrimage.
You glide serenely into the clean.
Then soar.
