Night's door opens you.
I watch.
Disembodied by distance
a want haunts me:
how
you touch me
and never touch me.
In the past, this was enough. Now
it is not nearly enough.
I know this light will go out sooner
for my hand casting shadows
trying to catch it, so when you say
"How was your day?"
I lie, and say "fine"
but it won't be till I feel
the sun burn me Alive,
and leave the night ashes
on the floor
