You're Somewhere Else
The stars are painting their pictures,
Dreams span the world.
At night we watch television,
And I think that you're somewhere else.
Rain falls on the pavement,
Light shines in the pools.
I look into our mirror,
And I hear somebody call.
And sometimes I think that you're not beside me,
And sometimes I think that you're somewhere else.
I, I carry your picture,
And I, I think about you.
You laugh and they love you,
And I think that you're somewhere else.
Why, why do I follow,
Why, why do you lead?
I can't answer my questions,
Why, why can't you see?
Do, do you love me,
Do, do you care?
Is our past our forever,
Is that the Gorgon stare?
And sometimes I think that you're not beside me,
And sometimes I think that you're somewhere else.
