Cry Out Loud
He forsook the sacred craft,
The magic somehow faded.
He turned away and faced the world,
With all its cold indifference.
His dream to teach, turned nightmare
By the unforgiving pace of life.
No one outside understood
And no one inside could make it right.
He wanted to cry out loud,
But what would be the point
And on that graduation day
In absentium, his head they could not anoint.
Four years of frantic sweating,
Four years of toil that seemed endless at the time.
Now his future yawns before him.
Filled with idle thoughts.
