Santa's Time
The family have now gathered, to celebrate this seasonal
duration.
Children are so excited, for Santa will call at this whole
nation.
Decorations on the walls, the tinselled tree stands in the
corner.
Presents lay on the table, which we hope, are to order.
The atmosphere changes at this time of year, for us to capture.
Carol singers stand at the door, sing with such joyous rapture.
Food has been provided, by nature throughout this past year.
Our hearts and minds are now contented, for everyone is here.
Christmas morning there is much jubilation, and such happy glee.
Presents can now be opened by all, laid under the festive tree.
Faces show amazement and surprise, as parcels can now reveal.
Also deep affection is shown, the way that families really feel.
Dinner is now being served, soup, turkey, vegetables and such.
Some could not eat their pudding; the dinner was far too much.
A glass of wine is taken, good wishes are sent to all men.
The departed are also remembered, wishing they were here again.
Toys are scattered across the floor; children are past their
prime.
Now they are getting tired; it must be their sleeping time.
Mums and dads are grateful; they can have that deserved rest.
Reflecting upon this day, delighted it has turned out the very
best.
Things are now cleared away, food, toys, and all the trappings.
Drinks were on the table, still with their fancy wrappings.
A good time was had by all, for the family have been together.
We are glad that we are still one, whatever be the weather.
