Dont drink and drive

Every year the adverts say
Don't drink and drive think
Every year people go away
And never come back
Crashed the car into
A tree or a family
Ruined people's lives
Yet still you think
It's ok I can handle it
It will never happen to me

But what if it did
Think of those near misses
What if they weren't so near?
And you not so quick?
What if you were distracted by
Somebody being sick
Just imagine after the lunch time party
Driving away feeling rather hearty
Your car slides on some patch of ice
And you plough into a family
Kill them all, that can't be nice

The policeman breathalises you
You're over the limit
It wasn't your fault you cry
He says now you've done it
He puts you in the cells
And charges you Christmas Eve
The judge sends you down
You missed your turkey and fun
And now you've lost your job and life
But some poor mans lost
A child and a wife

So think before you say
I've only had a couple
It's still ok to drive
