Symphony of sorrow

The sun shines through the window
and casts a thousand shadows reaching for me;
Their flickering fingers will not let me be.
They say I've blood on my hands
But it was not me, this is the truth I will
Always plea.
I hear the sweet keys of freedom
But they are shackled to my doom
They will lead me from this place
To the killing room.
They say I took the life
From the eyes of the young,
The hate grows around me,
OH GOD, you know it was
never done.
I hear the dawn chorus draw near
as it sings me a symphony of sorrow;
And the sweet notes that it sings
Tells me there is no tomorrow.
God you know my truth
But yet you let me die
No answers and no why.
I hear the polished boots of justice
Echo down the corridors of power
Those sweet keys of freedom
Un-lock me this is my darkest hour.
